Poor Lucas has had a rough week. On Tuesday he banged his face on a cabinet and got a black eye. The next morning he woke up with a runny nose and has been napping and sleeping poorly ever since. On Thursday he fell down the stairs (wooden stairs, no carpet!). On Saturday he fell and got a bruise on his cheek and forehead, which you can see in the second row of photos. Then he has also endured the routine of Jack pushing him down many times. (Feel free to offer advice. This has been a problem for months and has only slightly improved with many time-outs.)
The bruised cheek and forehead opposite the black eye. This is a rare smile from him this week. Mostly he has just looked tired and pitiful.
Jack has always had a big head. He was born with it. He has had many shirts that would fit him fine but they are very difficult to get over his head. Now he finds this funny, and says he has a hat.

Poor Lucas. :( Somehow I think it's so cute when little kids have black eyes. Is that weird?
Is he feeling any better yet?
Jack--funny!
Pooooooor little Lucas! Ah, the trials and tribulations of being a younger brother. just wait, soon enough he'll be pushing back. My Jack has learned quite a few good defensive moves when it comes to battling big brother ;-)
Poor Lucas. Hope he feels better soon. Malachi kissed the screen to make him feel better.
Just keep being consistent with time-outs when Jack pushes Lucas. Maybe start taking away some of his cars when he does it too. I find that if I take away an object Malachi seems to grasp the bad behavior easier.
Poor Lucas - what sad little pictures! Jack's 'hats' are funny too. I have no parenting advice, I can't even control my own 2 yr old - we'll see how he does with a little sister!
Jack desperately needs some serious working time with Grandpa. So does Lucas. Hurry and get here will ya.
