Our last stop on the Isle of Wight was to Carisbrooke Castle, a fortress that dates back to Saxon times. King Charles I was imprisoned at Carisbrooke Castle in 1647 after royalists were defeated during the English Civil War. It was similar to other castles we've seen in England, but the boys are always eager to run around and play in castle ruins.
