October was a great month for the blackberry harvest in our area. Blackberry bushes grow everywhere- along most hedges and roads, in our back yard- everywhere. Most of the blackberries around here end up rotting on the vine. But we managed to pick a few bowls full of them and freeze them.

(L) Jack, the Halloween artist. He's wearing a poppy for the British Legion's annual poppy appeal- a fund-raiser for British military veterans. The British Legion hands these poppies out at places where they have their donation buckets. The poppy was chosen as a symbol of remembrance for the UK's war dead after the First World War. You should explain to everyone the reason for the poppy jack is wearing. Something I did not know.
I love it. Great pictures! What is the reason for the thing on jack's shirt? Halloween is so fun. And jealous of the blackberries!
