This past weekend we took a trip with our friends, the Pettys, to Cape May, NJ. It was full of beautiful Victorian-style houses (Mom, you would have loved it). We saw the Cape May Lighthouse, walked on the beach, window shopped and enjoyed the good company. On the way home we stopped in Atlantic City and saw a beautiful sunny beach and the famous boardwalk. We definitely want to visit Cape May again! We loved it. Thanks Frank and Emily for a great time!
And in a few months we will be on the other side of that ocean...

I'm a Lucky Mom
It was time for Jack to take a nap, so I just put him in bed with his blanket. He rolled over and went to sleep without making a peep. I love him for that! It happens often.

Growth Progress
9 months old
Weight: 20 lbs, 14 oz (50th %)
Height: 31 in (>95th %)
He's thinning out. The weight percentile keeps dropping, but the height percentile has stayed the same since birth.

Trip to Ithaca
Last weekend we went to Ithaca for the blessing of Jack's new baby cousin, son of Aaron's brother, Aleks.
We all ate at the Ithaca Country Club, and Jack was very good, even though it was way past his bed time!

High Chair
Jack now eats in a high chair. Today I tried putting a few Cheerios on the tray. He thought they were toys, not food. He kept trying to pick them up, they'd get stuck to his hand and he couldn't find them. When one finally did get into his mouth, he tried to swallow it right away and ended up gagging and choking on it. I'm not sure how to teach him to suck on something before he swallows it.

Pittsburgh
This past weekend we went to Pittsburgh to visit Jack's Aunt Elise and Uncle Dave (Aaron's sister). We rode on the Duquesne Incline, a box car that goes up the side of the mountain. The observation deck at the top was closed and the weather was cold, but we did enjoy the view from the car. I was thinking of my dad the whole time and wished he could have been with us in the city of his mission.

Most Valuable Baby Equipment
Jack will spend a good 45+ minutes in this at a time. He just LOVES it! (and we love it too)
New Sleeping Habits
Now that Jack can roll over he refuses to stay on his back when I put him down for a nap or bedtime, so I have no choice but to let him fall asleep on his tummy. (Turning him and keeping him asleep is not possible; I've tried that.) He also loves to fall asleep with the blanket pulled over his face. He's been doing that for a long time now.
I love to see these little feet sticking out. Babies are so cute!
